Ziza Bafana, real name Kasendwa Richard, says he supports King Saha for the top job at UMA because Cindy has done all she can do as current president and cannot do more except go and carry out her domestic chores.
We have elevated her. She has done great. Now let her go back home and take care of her children. I like her as a sister, but I support King Saha,â€Â he said.
Cindy is going up against Saha, real name Mansour Ssemanda, who has received massive backing from artistes across Uganda’s musical spectrum.
Saha is a frontrunner candidate and seems to be assured of a win.
After picking up nomination forms from UMA offices in order to vie for the presidency of UMA, Saha puffed his chest and promised musicians unity among themselves when he becomes their president officially.
“I know I have already won the presidency seat in the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA). Many artists believe in me and they know I will bring up so many changes in the industry. When I officially become the president I will make sure we are very united as artists,â€Â Saha said.
Many agree with him, including the former UMA president, Ykee Benda, who has given his support to Saha to become the next leader of the association.
Ykee is convinced that King Saha is the right person for the job and nobody can perform the association’s presidential duties better than the self-crowned Saha.
“People are here saying mbu Saha is not mature enough. THATS WRONG !! Leadership isn’t about how old you are, during my time as president I was completely by these so-called mature people, they only cared about themselves because they no longer do music actively. Don’t judge Saha from social media or what you see in the news, he is a very responsible and reasonable man who loves this industry dearly. He can’t afford to send his own business to the grave, he will fight for it,â€Â Ykee Benda wrote on his social media platforms.
Ykee went on to describe Saha as an upright individual whom he has dealt with for five years without reason to believe he is anything other than genuine and honest.
