Westnile province are crowned champions of the third edition of the provincial Fufa Drum tournament after defeating lango province 3-2 on agreged.
The white Rhinos of westnile won the first leg of Fufa Drum finals 2-0 at Ababet greenlight stadium in Arua against lango province on 7th of January a week after today's 2-1 defeat to lango province at Akibua stadium in Lira city on Sunday 15th of January 2023.
In a fierce encounter of the second leg of Fufa Drum finals of 2022/23 edition at Akibua stadium, lango province jacked Infront of westnile province with a 2-0 goal lead before the first half interval.
The black Rhinos of lango province got their noses Infront through an early goal after 𝐃𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐎𝐤𝐰𝐢 rolled home that sweet pass from 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 at 11th minute before 𝐉𝐨𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐦 𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐫𝐚 doubled the lead with another powerful strike from a close range at 38th minute.
The white Rhinos of westnile raced back in to contest after captain 𝐓𝐨𝐡𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐝 scored brilliant free kick goal at 46th minute almost from the same territory he scored at Ababet greenlight stadium in Arua against the same custodian 𝐄𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐚 though this time he didn't bounce the ball but instead curled it to the far post.
Thanks to 𝐓𝐨𝐡𝐚'𝐬 lonely goal which won the white Rhinos their first Fufa Drum trophy.
A tournament in which 16 provinces participated has finally come an end with westnile province been crowned champions of Fufa Drum 2022/23 tournament.
Westnile province collected a whooping 32 millions Uganda shillings as the price money and many of their players walked away with individual aqulades .
