Moyo District – A peaceful demonstration has unfolded at Dufile Seeds Secondary School in Moyo District following the contractor's controversial decision to lock the classrooms due to unpaid debts. This action has ignited unrest among the students, who are now voicing their frustration over the disruption of their education.
Despite prior pleas for resolution, the contractor's decision to lock the school premises has left students in limbo, with crucial end-of-year exams fast approaching. As the senior four students prepare for their final exams in less than a week, there is growing concern over the impact this could have on their academic futures.
Chandia Everline, a concerned parent, condemned the contractor's actions, stressing that they are undermining the future of the children by taking matters into their own hands. "This is an injustice to the children who have worked hard throughout the year, and now they are being denied the opportunity to complete their education," Everline remarked.
Whereas Anyanzo Stephen expressed his disappointment saying, the contractor should have questioned the school administration in s good manner instead of locking them out of the classroom while exams are on going. "Our biggest disappointments goes to both the political leadership of the district & school administration" Extreme International Company Limited is demanding the school over 712 Ugx million according to the reports. Security Personnel were deployed to manage the situation.
As the situation continues to unfold, calls for intervention from community leaders and influential figures are mounting. It is hoped that a swift resolution will be found to ensure the students' educational continuity at this critical juncture.
District leaders have yet to comment on the matter, and the situation remains under close scrutiny.
