NRM’s Lawrence Alionzi Declared Arua City Mayor
Lawrence Alionzi of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has officially been declared the elected Mayor of Arua City following a decisive victory in the mayoral elections.
Alionzi secured 32,663 votes, comfortably defeating his two contenders. Independent candidate Draecabo Trinity Ceasor came in second with 3,197 votes, while Piriyo Gasper of the Democratic Party (DP) trailed with 1,712 votes.
According to the final results, the total number of valid votes cast was 37,572, while 927 ballots were declared invalid, bringing the total number of ballot papers cast to 38,499.
The landslide win reflects strong voter confidence in Alionzi’s leadership and the NRM party in Arua City.
