The Magistrates' Court in Arua has adjourned a case involving three suspects charged with nine counts of manslaughter, manufacture and sale of adulterated alcohol City 5 Pineapple flavoured gin to September 13.
The City 5 gin produced by City 5 distiller was discovered to be adulterated with excessive levels of methanol after a laboratory test upon lives being allegedly lost after its consumption.
Acting Senior Magistrate Grade One Arua Tukahaabwe Edgar on September 6 remanded three suspects for the second time because his court had no jurisdiction to handle the case.
The trio, Rose Inzikuru, Gideon Adule and Godfrey were remanded to Arua Government Prison until September 13, to appear before the Chief Magistrate's Court for mention of their case.
