Traders in Elegu Border Market are counting losses after unknown fire erupted & destroyed the market.
Police in Amuru District are following up circumstances where Elegu market catched flames & burnt.
This follows a concealed fire that burnt down provisional structures at the busy market on the Uganda-South Sudan border on Wednesday morning.
The Aswa River Region Police spokesperson, David Ongom Mudong confirmed the story & says,
"About 15 temporary structures had been burnt when police visited the scene, this is not the first time Elegu market is burning"
In 2017 & February last year another similarly disastrous fire burnt down hundreds of structures at the market of Elegu leaving many traders in losses..
