Arua City Municipal area is in a state of total distraction and vandalism following an intervention by the city authorities to end vending by the road side since the act increases congestion and risk of accidents.
The city authority therefore issued an ultimatum to the roadside vendors around main markets to vacate the streets and occupy empty stalls inside the main markets.After the expiration of the ultimatum,city authorities took to bringing down stalls of traders who did not heed their kind warning.
This did not go well with the boys of hawker as most of them lost their stalls in what they termed as a corrupt operation since the stalls were dismantled selectively. The boys therefore decided to take the operation into their own hands and vandalise other stalls that they thought out to be vandalised too.The whole town is in chaos as the boys are moving outrageously destroying mobile money stalls ,fast foods stalls among others on the streets.
No intervention was yet received from the city authorities at the prime of the incidences.
