For more than one year now since the first case of Covid-19 was registered in Uganda, the entertainment sector remains closed especially disco halls, music shows, and performances are stopped from operating. Before lockdown, the night disco halls, restaurants, hideouts and clubs were the main places that bring together entertainers as they listen and dance to music, a form of relaxing minds after a long day while others make money after a performance in the clubs. The most interesting thing to many revelers is to listen to songs that they understand, but this according to some of the entertainers was not the case in West Nile region as the men and women behind music selection mainly play songs outside the region. A talented upcoming artist in the region, One Target (real name: Benjamin Comboni) is worried that failure to play West Nile music by DJs will negatively affect the region's entertainment. One Target in a statement shared with Tone Touch Music says "they don't support home artists if it comes to their playlist in clubs". His statement is challenging West Nile DJs to consider including about 50% of the region's songs in their playlists when lockdown is lifted and the entertainment sector fully opened by the government.
